Alley Cat Rescue

Alley Cat Rescue’s (ACR) commitment is to help stray and outdoor community cats in the United States and around the world by promoting humane, nonlethal care to improve cats’ lives. ACR works to reduce the number of feral cats living in colonies through a proven method called Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). The ACR website offers resources for caring for pet cats and community cats, as well as step-by-step guides for doing TNR.

LOVEPAWS Rescue

Serving the entire DC metropolitan area but with a focus on Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties LOVEPAWS was founded as a community outreach organization and animal intake prevention program to help keep pets in homes and out of shelters while also advocating for the PG pitties impacted by the nation’s 3rd largest breed ban. To do this, we offer various types of assistance to pet owners, including our pet food pantry and re-homing services (which involves owners keeping pets in their home while we seek adopters). While our focus is on Prince George’s County, MD, we offer these services to the entire DC Metro area.

As part of our community outreach, we assist community cats and their caretakers in the following ways:

  1. Providing food from our pantry
  2. Sponsorship of spay/neuter when funding is available (NOTE: we do NOT have trappers but if trapping can be arranged with another org in the alliance or by a colony caretaker/member of the public, we may be able to assist with funding for spay/neuter and work on scheduling the appts at the PGSPCA feral cat clinic.)
  3. Providing cat shelters to keep cats safe from the elements

Services: cat food bank, rehoming assistance, cat shelters, S/N assistance
